Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I fly non-stop from Tel Aviv to New York by private jet?
Yes, with an ultra-long-range jet in the Global 6000/7500 or Gulfstream G650/G700 class. Westbound the flight takes approximately 11 h 30 min–12 h 30 min, and eastbound is usually shorter, around 10–11 hours, depending on winds and routing. Smaller jets can make the trip with a fuel stop, for example in Europe; this adds time, but a smaller aircraft may be the more economical choice. Your advisor will compare both options for your group.
How do multi-stop or around-the-world itineraries work?
The same aircraft can stay with you from start to finish, flying each leg on your schedule and waiting at each destination, or different aircraft can be used in different regions, drawing on access to 5,000+ aircraft in 190+ countries. Every leg is planned for range, runway length and permits, with crew rest built in. On a round-the-world trip, prevailing winds make the direction of travel matter, and time-zone changes affect everyone on board, so leave room for rest days.
Who arranges overflight and landing permits?
They are coordinated for you as part of flight planning, together with the aircraft operator. Many countries require overflight and landing permits for private flights, and lead times differ: some are issued quickly, others take several working days, and certain destinations ask for additional documents. That is why international trips, especially to less common destinations, should be requested as early as possible. A route change after permits are issued may require new applications.
How do crews manage very long flights?
Long flights are planned within strict crew duty and rest limits. When one crew cannot cover the journey within those limits, the operator either adds an augmented crew (extra pilots who take turns, often using a crew rest area on ultra-long-range aircraft) or schedules a stop where a fresh crew takes over. Extra crew members occupy seats and add to the cost, so this is planned at the booking stage, not on the day of departure.
What determines the cost of a long-haul or global charter?
Mainly aircraft category and total flight hours: ultra-long-range jets cost more per hour but can save a fuel stop. Add positioning, permit and handling fees at each airport, crew accommodation, augmented crew on long days, aircraft parking during your stays, and passenger taxes in some countries. Keeping one aircraft for the whole journey avoids repeated positioning, while one-way legs can sometimes be matched with empty legs. JETX.VIP prepares a quote with no obligation.
