Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Which airport should I fly into for the Monaco Grand Prix or the Cannes Film Festival?
For Monaco, fly to Nice Côte d’Azur (NCE), since Monaco has no airport, then continue by helicopter to the Monaco Heliport in about 7 minutes or by car in around 30–45 minutes, longer when race-weekend traffic builds. For Cannes, Nice (NCE) handles business jets of every size, while Cannes-Mandelieu (CEQ) is closer to the festival but accepts only smaller business jets because of size and noise limits.
How far in advance should I book a private jet for a major event?
As early as you can: for events such as the Monaco Grand Prix or the Cannes Film Festival, several weeks or even months ahead is sensible. During these periods airport slots and aircraft parking are limited, and popular aircraft are reserved early. Late requests can still work, but they may mean a different airport, a drop-off after which the aircraft repositions elsewhere to park, or a narrower choice of aircraft. It is worth fixing your return slot after the event early, too.
Can a group or delegation fly together to an event?
Yes. A large jet such as a Gulfstream G550 seats about 10–14 passengers and an ultra-long-range aircraft 13–19; bigger groups fly on two or more aircraft with coordinated departure times. Splitting a group can also add flexibility: for example, some guests fly home right after the event while others stay on. Ground transport between the airport and the venue can be coordinated for everyone, so the whole group arrives together.
Can I fly to an event and back on the same day?
Often, yes, on shorter routes: London–Nice takes about 2 hours and Paris–Nice around 1 h 20 min, so the aircraft can wait and fly you home after the event. From Tel Aviv, Nice is about 3 h 45 min–4 h each way, so a same-day return makes a very long day that must fit the crew’s duty-time limits; an overnight stay or a second crew may be needed. Flight times depend on aircraft, winds and routing.
Why do private flights cost more during big events?
Demand peaks while the number of available aircraft, slots and parking places stays the same, so event dates are typically priced higher than the rest of the season. The usual factors also apply: aircraft category, flight time, positioning, airport and parking fees, and crew overnight costs if the aircraft waits for you over several days. Booking early and being flexible about the airport both help, and JETX.VIP will prepare a quote with no obligation.
